| what exactly are we meant to call in about? |
I've had the pleasure of spending the last couple of weeks hanging out with one of the
coolest people around, and her amazing cats (seriously, I'm converted). We knit, drank wine, watched an old movie, knit & drank wine, went for a hike, knit & drank wine, you get the picture. It was lovely, and I wish I had taken more photos because Iowa was surprisingly beautiful (the company was pretty great too - what other host provides a specially selected reading list of books on weaving for your bedside?)
I also just picked up my serger this morning! I've had all sorts of chores and work to do, but I'm really looking forward to sitting down at it and sewing! Seriously, no more bizarely french seamed shoulders, no more rangling stretch fabrics, no more raw seams that I just can't find a way around. Anyways, I'm drafting a pattern right now, so hopefully I'll have something soon!
omigosh, jenny's cats are A-dorable!! i would totally fall in love with them too (if i haven't already, that is). :) glad you had a great time in iowa...i've never been, but i know the feeling of being surprised by a place you weren't expecting much of (for me it was atlanta). and congrats on the serger! i'm really excited to see what you make! :)

i live about an hour and a half from iowa city, and it really is a neat place, especially when the university bros are away for the summer, ha! :) i am glad you had such a lovely trip!
ReplyDeleteit's so lovely! we went to Amana - crazy cute; the theater there had handmade quilts hanging on the walls. Part of me is sort of sad I missed the university bros! I went to university in the downtown of a city of 3 million - not the drinking on porchs and football games experience, and one I sort of wish I could see sometime.
