Folks, it is hard to fit this quilt into one shot in my tiny apartment. So here is most of it!
I'm a little hesitant to share it, just because it deviates pretty far from my normally tendencies, and I'm still not totally sure how I feel about that. All that said, I totally love using it now! It is warm but not too thick, thanks to the bamboo batting, and I like that almost every square is attached to a memory or piece of clothing for me. The only thing I bought specifically to make this quilt was the batting and binding (I refuse to make that much bias tape, thank you very much).
So there we go! I actually finished it a week ago, but this week has been so mad busy that I haven't had time to photograph it. By far the most time consuming part was hand sewing on the back of the binding, but I hauled it in my bag all over town so I could quilt while hanging out (turns out a giant quilt in your lap is a wonderful conversation starter).
Happy weekend!
great job !
ReplyDeletethanks! I'm so glad to have actually finished it!
DeleteAmazing! You are incredible. I have started saving up those clothes that I really love but have started to wear out to make a quilt. Might end up being hideous but I like the idea of having memories attached to it. And it has to be better than the fabric they sell in places like Satin Moon.
ReplyDeletethe quilt looks so beautiful!
